Chemmeen Fry

The Great Indian Prawns (Chemmeen); Love to feel it as fry or curry. I was literally dancing with joy when i saw the same in Doha. Being pescetarian too, my taste for fry’s are limited. But this one simply inevitable and my all time favourite.

Find below the incredible spicy recipe.


  • Indian Prawns/Chemmeen 500 Grams (Peeled and Deveined)
  • Ginger (Small Piece),
  • Garlic 4 – 5 Cloves if Indian (1 Clove if Chinese)
  • Small Onion (Indian Shallot) 3 – 4 Nos.
  • Chilly Powder 2 Tablespoon
  • Kashmiri Chilly Powder 1 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper Powder 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Lemon Juice 2 Drops
  • Salt, Coconut Oil and Curry Leaves as required

Note. This will be Spicy, add lesser quantity of chilly powder to make less spicy


  1. Nicely crush all the ingredients except Prawns and Curry Leaves
  2. Mix Curry leaves in to the crushed masala and marinate the Prawns for about 30 Minutes.
  3. Heat up your favourite pan with coconut oil as required.
  4. Cover and Cook over medium low flame till it become deep fry.
  5. Garnish with curry leaves.
