Hummus or houmous (/ˈhʊməs/, /ˈhʌməs/, or /ˈhuːməs/; Arabic: حُمُّص‎) is a Levantine and Egyptian food dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. Today, it is popular throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and in Middle Eastern cuisine around the globe. This version of Hummus is a spicy dip, which I added Paprika. This goes well with Arabic breads.


  • Cooked and Pealed Chickpeas 3/4 cup. (You can use Canned Chickpeas too)
  • Olive Oil 1/4 Cup.
  • Tahini half Cup.(Tahini is an oily paste made from toasted ground hulled sesame seeds)
  • Juice of one lemon (Make it a Glass by adding water).
  • Garlic 2 cloves if big.
  • Salt and Paprika Powder as required.


  1. Place the Chickpeas in to your food processor/blender, and blend it smoothly along with Garlic cloves.
  2. Add Tahini, Lemon Juice and Olive Oil; Blend it nicely
  3. Add Salt, Adjust consistency with required amount of water and keep blending until it become smooth paste.
  4. Garnish with Olive Oil and Paprika Powder.
